Attempted to put the rear end in the parts car today. Couldn't get the pin in the rubber boot. The weather is what drove me in. I'll attempt later.

Probably just need to lube it up with some silicone spray or something. Does that bushing not have a metal sleeve in it?

No it doesn't. I did spray some silicone grease in there after I took the picture and it's about 3/4ths in there now.
